Yogurt will be sold for $3 a serving at dismissal on Friday, May 17, Friday May 24, Friday May 31, and Friday June 7.

School Tours- Two people preferred. Give tours to prospective students and parents after 2:30 at Longfellow. Commitment level varies with the spring being the busiest time. Your 8th grader can participate with you and earn service hours.
Health and Wellness Committee- New Committee- Work with Longfellow's counseling staff to bring wellness and mindfulness to students throughout the year. McLean High School's committee has done such things as bring in therapy dogs monthly, given out stress balls, offered before school yoga, and much more. Reducing stress and anxiety in our students is a top priority. Grab a friend and find your zen!
8th Grade Party- Two co-chairs have already volunteered. We could use 2-3 more co-chairs to lead some committees. It might seem early to volunteer for something a year away. However, it is helpful to see the party this year and meet with the chairs to see what goes on at a party for half the school!
Volunteers are needed to help with our 8th-graders' end-of-year party. Please sign up here to help give them a fun sendoff to high school!
The end of the year is quickly approaching and we are creating a slideshow to be displayed during the 8th grade party. We strive to have every graduating student represented in the slideshow, and we need your help. Please send 3 pictures of your child by Friday, May 24 to lfmsphotos2019@gmail.com

- 1 photo from Kindergarten

As the school year draws to a close, many of our children head to summer camp, and families look forward to vacations at the beach. Did you know that 120 of Longfellow students’ families live at or below the poverty level? Their parents work full time, sometimes 2 or 3 jobs, but still can’t afford meals and essentials. During the school year, students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. But in the summer, there are no free meals from school for these kids. DONATE NOW to Longfellow Love and we will support each of these families as our community comes out strong.

- Place a check written to “Longfellow PTA” in the collection box in the office
- Place gift cards in an envelope, with “Longfellow Love” written on the outside, in the locked-box in the office (Target, Safeway gift cards are most useful).
Donations Deadline is Friday, May 24, so that we have time to collect and distribute gift cards before the end of the school year.
NOTE: All donations are tax deductible contributions to the Longfellow PTA. 100% of the funds go directly to student families in need for their personal expenses.

Many thanks to all the fabulous LMS parents who contributed gift cards, salads, baked goods, and supplies for Teacher Appreciation Week! On Monday morning the teachers arrived to decorated hallways and doors. Thank you to all the students who helped on that rainy Sunday afternoon. The teachers had snacks provided Monday; a Fiesta Lunch on Tuesday; Cheese, Meat, Fruit, and Crackers on Wednesday; and a Smoothie Bar on Thursday. On Friday each teacher and staff member received one of the numerous gift cards that were donated by our generous parents.
