Dear Forestville Families,
This is "Food Allergy Awareness Week." As the growing numbers of food allergies rise in our country, so too must our awareness increase. Researchers estimate that up to 15 million Americans have food allergies, some of who are Forestville students and staff members. This potentially deadly disease affects 1 in every 13 children (under 18 years of age) in the U.S.
As we continue to raise the awareness level of many, we felt it was important to send home some information for your review. We encourage you to please read the information together with your child(ren) and discuss how you and your families can become better aware and help someone who has food allergies. This would be a wonderful opportunity to do as a family; especially in advent of summer camp season.
