 The Cameron Spring Garden Club has worked very hard on clearing a planting bed, planting and caring for seeds, and finally planting the seedlings. We are excited to see our peas, carrots, radishes, spinach, sunflowers and marigolds grow!

SOL Testing Schedule
Standards of Learning tests are going on now. Please remember that attendance on testing dates is particularly important. Avoid scheduling any time away from school for students during this time of year. Students are also reminded to get a good night's sleep and eat a healthy breakfast in preparation for tests.

Clothing Center in Need of Donations

Written instructions for the five-step student registration process are available for kindergarten registration and grade 1 thru 12 registration on the FCPS website.
Heads Up: 2019-20 School Year Calendar Changes; Notable Dates
New Virginia legislation requires that schools opening prior to Labor Day must be closed the Friday immediately preceding Labor Day. As a result, FCPS’ 2019-20 Standard School Year Calendar has changed and Friday, August 30, is now a holiday for students. In addition, the School Board voted to move the March school planning day to Tuesday, March 3, 2020, to accommodate the 2020 presidential primary.
Other notable dates include the first day of school, August 26; Thanksgiving break, November 27-29; Winter break, December 23, 2019-January 3, 2020; Spring Break, April 6-10, 2020; and the last day of school, June 12, 2020. See the 2019-20 school year calendar.

Campers will receive: Camp T-shirt and a chance to win prizes. They will also get instruction from Edison coaches and players on developing skills, learning the basic fundamentals of the game, rules of the game and the principles of team play, all with the emphasis on having fun! Pizza & snacks are available for purchase.

Staff Spotlight: Lisa Weckstein
Mrs. Weckstein is a first grade teacher who is in her 7th year with FCPS. She enjoys reading, exercising, and rooting for the Washington Nationals. Her favorite things to teach are reading and writing. She loves watching her students learn new things. This summer Mrs. Weckstein looks forward to spending time in Ocean City with her husband and family.
