Andrew Mellon Auditorium:

The historic Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium stands tall as one of the three buildings in the Federal Triangle. It was designed by architect Arthur Brown, Jr. and erected in the early 1930s. The auditorium’s seven stories of white-washed limestone, legendary columns, and red terra-cotta roof tiles make it the highlight of the Triangle.  Limestone-finished walls and piers define the interior space and the lobby’s marble floor is laid in rectilinear patterns of gold, pink, and dark red marble. At the heart of the building is the spectacular auditorium standing more than 60 feet in height and embellished with limestone pilasters, gilded relief carvings, and polished oak. Colossal luminaries, made of brass and burnished aluminum, are suspended from the ceiling. Encompassing almost six acres and stretching across 1,000 feet of prime Constitution Avenue space, this building certainly makes a statement.

We are so excited to hold our Langley prom in this extraordinary building!
