FCPS Career Switcher Information Session - May 21, 2019

The Office of Talent Acquisition & Management (TAM) will host a Career Switcher Information Session at the Willow Oaks Administrative Center on Tuesday, May 21, 2019. This event will give military veterans, community members and anyone interested an opportunity to learn how to become a licensed Virginia teacher.

The information session will begin with presentations from the four approved Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) career switcher programs, Educate Virginia, Old Dominion University, Regent University and Shenandoah University. Troops to Teachers will also present their program offerings to our military veteran attendees. A panel of FCPS educators will share valuable information with attendees via Q&A fashion, followed by an opportunity to network with the five presenters, the FCPS licensure team and the substitute office.

Rock of Ages Earns Multiple Cappie Award Nominations

The cast and crew of Rock of Ages was nominated for 24 Cappie Awards. This is a record number of nominations for our school and double the number of nominations received last year.

TSA-State Competition Winners

Students from our Technology Student Association Club participated in a state competition held in Hampton, Virginia. This is the first competition our team has ever participated in and placed as follows:

Structural Engineering and Design: (1st Place) Justice Watson and Manoj Nanduri

Board Game Design: (2nd Place) Anisha Patrikar, Thummala Amoolya, Nishita Cheekatamarla and Sumaja Bandreddi

The team qualified for the TSA National Competition this summer.

World Language Newspapers

The Art Department needs newspapers printed in different languages for a school project. If you have any to donate, please bring them to the Main Office, or send them to school with your student.
