TODAY! SPIRIT DAY AT MOBY DICK
Come out to our next Spirit Day at Moby Dick House of Kabob today between 11:00 AM - 9:30 PM. Their food includes slow-braised stews and flame-grilled meats, house-made signature seasonings and marinades, and fresh whole pita bread baked in a traditional clay oven. Mention this fundraiser when you order and Moby Dick will donate 20% of your purchase to the Clearview

STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK
The Clearview PTA Staff Appreciation Week is this week and the theme this year is “How Sweet it is to be Taught by You!” Here is the daily schedule of events Monday: Cold Brew Coffee and Pastry Bar Tuesday: Chuy’s Catered Lunch (Courtesy of LeAnne and Company Real Estate) Wednesday: Snack Cart and Wish List Day Thursday: Popcorn Bar Friday: Staff Breakfast (Thank you Keary Buhler for organizing this!)

9TH ANNUAL CLEARVIEW PTA 5K AND 1M FUN RUN
The 9th Annual Clearview Elementary PTA 5K and 1M Fun Run will take place on Saturday, May 18 at 8:00 AM. This year you can easily register online at www.runsignup.com/Race/VA/Herndon/ClearviewPTA5Kand1MFunRun or fill out and return the paper form sent home with your child. It is too late to receive a t-shirt with your registration, but you can still participate in either race so register today!
SUMMER CAMP FUNDRAISER
Overtime Athletics is hosting a Summer Fun Camp at Armstrong Elementary and they are offering $40 off per week for Clearview families. Just use the discount code ‘ClearviewPTA’ to receive your discounted rate. Clearview PTA will also receive a $10 donation for each child that registers using the code. WALK IN MY SHOES
We are so excited to bring ‘Walk in My Shoe’s to Clearview Elementary School! A huge thank you to Valerie Catullo for pursuing and organizing this for our school. The purpose of Walk in My Shoes is to foster an environment where differences are respected by providing students with the opportunity to see the world from the viewpoints of others. The goal is for every child to feel welcome, safe and included in the Clearview community.
This interactive program for students in grades 4 & 5 will feature a number of activities that enable students to experience the world from the perspective of students with disabilities or sensory issues. In the gym, students will discuss what it means to include someone in an activity, how to use their strengths to help overcome weaknesses, and how to respect differences among classmates. Functioning as a team, working together, and helping each other are stressed throughout the week, during the event, and after the event during a debriefing with school counselors. The event will take place on June 7th during the school day!

PTA CLOTHING DRIVE
The PTA’s clothing drive is still taking place and the following items are needed:
- Winter coats for men and women in all adult sizes.
- Boots for children, men and women in all sizes.
- Halloween costumes for next year.
- White shirts and black pants for chorus and band.
Items collected will be distributed by Clearview staff to Clearview families. Drop your donations off in the black and white polka dot bin in the Clearview lobby between the cafeteria and the classrooms.
