Intern'l Night

International Night...major success!

Thank you, thank you, thank YOU to all the families and teachers who made International Night such a wonderful success. Families brought delicious food to share. Students performed traditional dances. Everyone loved the line dances led by Mr. Hamilton and Mr. Sanchez. Teachers did face painting and facilitated map decorating. It was a fun and festive time. Big round of applause to our English Language Teachers who organized the event.

SOL

Westlawn students in grades 3 – 6 will take the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) Tests from May 7 through May 23 with an extended test window for expedited retakes until June 7, 2019.  Please avoid appointments which take your child out of school during this time period.  If you anticipate that your child will miss school during this window due to observed religious holidays, let your child’s teacher know and we will schedule your child’s tests accordingly.  It will help your child to perform at his or her best if he or she has had a good night’s rest, a healthy breakfast, and comes to school with a positive attitude.

Mrs. D

Congratulations to Michelle Doyle, Westlawn Assistant Principal, for being selected to the Fairfax County Public Schools Principal Pool. Being selected into the Principal Pool is a tremendous accomplishment. Mrs. Doyle has worked hard and gone through several intensive processes during the selection process. Now that Mrs. Doyle is in the FCPS Principal Pool, she will have the opportunity to apply and be considered for principal jobs in FCPS.  We are very proud of Mrs. Doyle. Way to go!
