SOL Testing
May 7th - June 5th
|
Students in grades 3-6 will be taking the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) Tests between May 7th and June 5th. A letter detailing specific grade level testing was sent home today in the Thursday folder.
It is important that your child attend school on these days. If possible, please avoid scheduling trips or appointments that would take your child out of school during this time period. It is also important that your child have a good night’s rest and a healthy breakfast before testing.
This spring, the SOL Testing window will have significant overlap with Ramadan, the Muslim holy month marked by daily fasting from sunrise to sunset. Only one week at the beginning of the window and two days at the end of the window fall completely outside this religious observance.
Please contact our Testing Coordinator; Tamala Thompson tmthompson@fcps.edu if your family celebrates Ramadan beginning Sunday, May 5th – Wednesday, June 5th so that we can accommodate for your child during the SOL testing season that coincides with the Ramadan holiday.
