Island Creek’s Project LIFT Summer Reading Program supports students in grades K-5 and their reading success! Did you know that research proves that students who read 6 books during summer break DO NOT experience the dreaded “summer slide”?
Our Project LIFT Summer Reading Program costs $40. This includes:
- Six new books chosen by your child
- Two books given to your child in June
- Two books mailed to your child in July
- Two books mailed to your child in August
- A shopping day during school to select books
- A Summer Reading Log
- Summer Reading Celebration in September

Here is the process for enrollment/using MSB:
- Go to “www.MySchoolBucks.com” or to the MySchoolBucks link located on the Island Creek homepage to establish an account.
- Add your child using the name of the school, and either their student ID or DOB.
- You will receive a confirmation email that your account has been established.
- Make purchases with your credit/debit card or electronic checks.
- There are NO convenience FEES for using the online payment system.
- Paying for Project LIFT – select School Store, Browse All Items, click on Project LIFT View Details, select your student, add to basket and pay.
My School Bucks Customer Service:
*Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) utilize a third party check collection service, Checkredi Payment Services, to reduce the administrative burden placed on school personnel in managing returned checks. A returned check fee will be charged to the check writer in addition to the face value of the check. The Commonwealth of Virginia allows a returned check fee of up to $50.
