POSITIVITY PROJECT

Our students continue to learn about the 24 character strengths and virtues. This month classes spent ten minutes a day defining, describing, and engaging in activities that promote the character strengths appreciation of beauty and excellence and purpose. Our overarching focus is being present and giving other people our attention.

TABLE CHATTER

The positivity project defines appreciation of beauty and excellence as “noticing and valuing the world’s beauty and other people’s skills. You don’t take things for granted”.

Spring is finally here and a great time for your children to explore the appreciation of beauty and excellence. Go on a walk in a park together! What beauty do you see?

Check out some of our local parks:

  • Spring Lane Park
  • Skyline Park
  • Dowden Terrace Park
  • Hogge Park
  • Munson Hill Park
  • Justice Park

Purpose is “having beliefs about the meaning of life and your life’s purpose. You seek to be part of something greater than yourself”. What is your purpose in life? Being present is one way we can begin to recognize our purpose in life. Stay in the moment and be grateful for the here and now!

NEXT MONTH

May is our last official month of lesson plans! Our final character trait is leadership. As our children venture off for the summer we want them to remember to be leaders in their homes and communities and everywhere they go! #otherpeoplematter
