Calling All Soccer Players
The deadline to sign-up to play in the Bailey’s soccer tournament has been extended. We are looking for additional staff and parent/guardians that are interested in playing in the annual Bailey’s soccer game on Friday, May 3rd. To sign up please turn in the attached form OR email all of the following: Name, Phone, Email, Soccer Experience (Beginner, Intermediate or Expert) and Shirt Size (Adult Medium, Large, X Large or Other) to Elizabeth Sejas at elizabethsfdc@gmail.com

There are a number of wonderful volunteer opportunities coming up for you to consider as we begin the last quarter of the school year. Many hands make light work!

JOIN THE TEAM!
At the close of the school year, the PTA board will have THREE open officer positions: 1st Vice President of Outreach, 2nd Vice President of Programs and Secretary. Each officer is elected for a two year term.
We cannot maintain our status as a PTA unless the Secretary position is filled.
The nominating committee is looking for individuals interested in filling these positions. If you are interested or know someone who might be or would just like more information about the positions, please contact the nominating committee at baileyspta.firstvp@gmail.com. No prior experience needed, just a willingness to serve! Past and continuing board members will offer plenty of guidance and support as you begin your new term. Nominations will be made at the PTA membership meeting on Thursday, May 9th.
We hope you will consider joining the leadership team!

Thank a Teacher for National Teacher Appreciation Week
National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6 - 10, and that means the Thank a Teacher campaign is in full swing. The Virginia PTA is partnering with the Virginia Lottery again this year to encourage parents, students and the public to send thank-you notes to public school teachers across Virginia.
You can send digital thank-you notes now at www.thankateacherva.com!
The notes will be sent the week of May 6-10, and you will receive confirmation when your email has been sent.
Teachers who receive a thank-you note can enter for a chance to win one of two Virginia vacation packages courtesy of the Virginia Tourism Corporation.

Reimbursement can be provided. Early bird registration is $10. After May 15th registration is $15
Registration includes continental breakfast and lunch.
Currently 12 sessions are scheduled.
Exhibitors (future Bailey’s PTA partners) will be available all day
You do not need to be a current officer or board member to attend. Staff are also welcome to attend.
Looking for at least four people to attend sessions, learn and take notes.
Why attend: The archived PowerPoint presentations do not compare to attending. The class discussions and question/answer sessions are invaluable! If you are interested in attending, please contact Crystal Lamb at baileyspta.president@gmail.com

The end of the school year will be here before we know it. This is a friendly reminder to all PTA volunteers, coordinators and/or staff if you have made an approved purchase on behalf of the Bailey’s PTA, please submit the reimbursement form and copy of the receipt one of the following ways: 1) Place inside mailbox at either campus or 2) email baileyspta.treasurer@gmail.com.
