Positivity Project :

This week we will focus on appreciation of beauty. This means that you notice and value the world's beauty and people's skills. You don't take things for granted.

Questions you might enjoy talking about.

  • Why is this character strength important?
  • How do I use this strength?
  • How do other people use this strength?

Dance-A-Thon This Friday, April 26!

Friday, April 26, 2019 in the Orange Hunt ES Cafeteria

Grades K-3: 4:30 - 6:15 PM

Grades 4-6: 6:30 - 8:15 PM

Come and have a blast as we dance to raise money for the students at Orange Hunt! There will be a professional DJ, dinner for sale, bake sale and of course GREAT music and activities! This is fun for the WHOLE family! Last year was a great success, let's make this one bigger!

Due to the size of the school we must have two sessions. We split the sessions by grades. The first session is for K to 3rd grade. The second session is for 4th to 6th grade. For families who could have a child or children in both sessions, it is fine to pick one session to attend.

If you have a younger child who wishes to attend, please register as a sibling ($2.00). Parents are not required to register!

Please remember that this is fundraiser, we are raising money to support the PTA. Similar to last year, we will be collecting donations. Please ask family, friends and neighbors to help support Orange Hunt. Register here.

Kindergarten Registration and Orientation

Welcome to Orange Hunt! Children who reach the age of five on or before September 30,2019 are eligible to attend Kindergarten for the 2019-20 school year.

Kindergarten Orientation is scheduled for this Thursday, April 25 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm. Registration forms can be found on the FCPS website by clicking here. Please contact Ann Prentice at aiprentice@fcps.edu with any questions. Thank you! We look forward to seeing you!

SOL Testing Calendar

Students in grades 3-6 in our school will be taking the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) Tests between May 13, 2019 and May 31, 2019. It is important that your child attend school on these days. If possible, please avoid scheduling trips or appointments that would take your child out of school during this time period. It is also important that your child have a good night’s rest and a healthy breakfast before testing.

More information will be coming home in your student's backpack if they are in grades 3 through 6. If you become aware of an unavoidable conflict that could result in your child missing a testing day, please notify your child’s teacher as soon as possible.
