Each year our nation designates April as the Month of the Military Child to recognize and thank children from military families for the sacrifices they make living the military lifestyle. Wednesday, April 10 was "Purple Up! For Military Kids” Day. Why purple? We wear purple because it symbolizes the combination of all the service colors: Army Green, Marine Red, Navy Blue, Air Force Blue and Coast Guard Blue.
We are honored to have so many military children with us here at Clermont Elementary School. We thank you all for supporting military children in our Clermont community and in April for the Month of the Military Child.

Calling all young inventive engineers: The Elements of S.T.E.A.M. program at John Marshall Community Library is called Zany Zip Lines. Students learn about the science behind zip lines and create their own zip line carrier. Young engineers are offered the challenge to build their own zip line carrier. Can they build one to safely carry a small plastic animal across the zip line without crashing the carrier or dumping its passenger out of the carrier? Registration is not required. This program is suggested for children in grades 2-4, but older children are welcome as well.
