WAKEFIELD FOREST ES Weekly Message

Piggy opera

The second grade students did a wonderful job in last week's Three Piggy Opera!

Positivity Project:  Being present and giving others my attention
This element of the Other People Matter Mindset means that when we’re with other people, we are present and give them our full attention.  A deliberate focus on being present is so important today due to the increasing number of distractions vying for our time and attention.  Phone calls, text messages, emails, social media notifications all have the formidable capacity to pull us away from the present moment and what’s most important – our relationships with other people.

Save the Date – Community Meeting is May 20
On Monday, May 20, 2019 at 6:30 pm,  Wakefield Forest ES will host a community meeting in the cafeteria to discuss our current capacity and next steps as we move toward scheduled renovation. At the meeting, we will have representation from Region 5 leadership, facilities management and the School Board available to speak to these topics and to answer your questions. We hope you will engage in this community meeting.

Volunteer Luncheon is tomorrow, April 10
Please join us between 10:55 am and 1:50 pm for the Volunteer Luncheon in the WFES library.

The Month Of The Military Child
April is when we celebrate children who are connected to the various branches of the armed forces.  Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 10, we are encouraging everyone to wear PURPLE to celebrate and honor our military connected students.

Lost and Found
We will be donating all items that have not been claimed by April 12.  If you are missing your child’s coat, sweatshirt, lunch box, water bottle, or any other item, we strongly encourage you to come in this week and look in the cafeteria any time between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.  In the future, please label your child’s outerwear and lunchbox, even if it is just with a first name and last name initial. We’ll figure it out!

April is Autism Awareness Month
