Tiger Share
We are looking for volunteers to help pack up and deliver food donations on either Thursday or Friday each week. We have found that picking up at the end of the week works best to ensure a greater food collection and to maintain freshness for perishable items, but we can be flexible. If you need to do a different day than the one specified on the calendar, please note the date in the comment section.
Volunteers will empty the refrigerator into the collection bin and deliver the donations to Food for Others (2938 Prosperity Ave. Fairfax, VA). An employee/volunteer at FFO will take care of the unloading process.
If you are interested in volunteering please sign up using the sign up genius below:

Fairhill Flyers- Spring Edition
The Fairhill Flyers running club will begin it’s spring season on April 23rd. This is an after school program run by teachers, open to boys and girls grades 3-6. We meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays, right after dismissal in the gym. After a warm up, the students do a running work out on the field, followed by a fun game. Pick up is at 5pm at the end of the bus loop. Attendance is not mandatory. We understand our students have many activities. Just come when you can. It’s a great way to exercise and have fun with classmates and teachers. The season concludes on May 16th.
Please return all permission slips to Mr. Peevy. For any questions, please email at pepeevy@fcps.edu

Innovation Fair
Innovation is the key to unlocking mysteries, creating solutions, increasing efficiency, and changing our world. To foster this mind-set, we are excited to present the fourth-ever Fairhill Innovation Fair! The Innovation Fair is for all students from K – 6th grade, and is voluntary. Every child is encouraged to participate! Participants can be individuals or teams (not necessarily in the same grade). Registration forms are coming home today and need to be filled out and returned no later than Wednesday, May 21st. Projects need to be turned in on Thursday, June 6th to allow for proper setup. Students can bring their project to school or parents can drop it off at the library between 5:30 and 6:00 on Thursday, June 6. The Innovation Fair Community viewing and activities will be held on Thursday, June 6th from 6:00 – 7:30pm. The schoolwide viewing will be held throughout the schoolday on Friday, June 7th. Students will orally be able to share about their design during the community viewing by standing near the project and answering questions and telling about it as others visit (optional). Each participant will receive a certificate from the Principal for submitting a design. Projects must be taken home on Friday, June 7th at dismissal. Most of all, the Innovation Fair is for students to HAVE FUN with Engineering Design Process! We look forward to seeing your child’s great project!

The PTA Needs YOU!
Next years' PTA Board and Leadership positions are beginning to come together. Elections will be held in just under two months at our May 9th PTA meeting (please come!) We need a few more dedicated volunteers to fill some gaps that we have to keep the PTA going strong next year. Please consider one of these roles and reach out to Angie Roeder at president@fairhillpta.org if you have questions or would like further details.
The current positions we are looking to fill are:
President Elect
Fall Festival Coordinator
Box Tops for Education Coordinator
For detailed role descriptions, please go to http://fairhillpta.org/about-us/positions-available/
Volunteering for a PTA leadership position is a great way to get to know our wonderful principals, teachers and staff better. It's an amazing cause to give back to that directly benefits your children and our wonderful school.

At this months meeting we will hear from Kris Unger, Friends of Accotink Creek to talk about this program coming to Fairhill.
