MUSIC & COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY STUDENTS AT OMEGA STUDIOS, A PROFESSIONAL RECORDING STUDIO IN ROCKVILLE, MD.

Dear Family Fairfax,

It certainly is a wet ending to a beautiful week!   From sports, senior nights, and homeruns, to our National Honors Society induction… the week flew by!

I had the privilege of presenting at the City of Fairfax School Board meeting on Monday night alongside Dr. Hanna from Lanier.  We spent an hour talking about our schools and our common goals, and we were asked some fantastic questions by the City Board members.  For those parents and students who did not attend Lanier, rest assured that the common goals are universal, and at Fairfax, we are looking to build community with everyone in and from our community.   I highlighted the importance of communication, collaboration, and innovation as Fairfax looks towards its future, and I also spoke to the fact that it will take all of us to effectively do this work.  A special thank you to the many parents who have stepped up to volunteer for events like our Rising Rebels, or who are consistently dropping food by for Fairfax to have available for its students.

Next Monday, a selected panel of students and their parents will have the opportunity to speak to the City of Fairfax School Board.  No, it isn’t fact checking, but an opportunity to hear about our school and the transition from middle school.  I will participate in the parent session, to answer questions and hear about ways that we can improve.

Here is to a restful and dry weekend.

Sincerely,

Erin B. Lenart

Teacher and Staff Appreciation Luncheon Help Needed!!

Our annual FHS PTSA Teacher and Staff Appreciation Luncheon is coming up on April 11th. We need lots of help to make this event amazing for our terrific teachers and staff!

Every year at the luncheon, we present a $25 gift card to every one of the over 270 teachers and staff members at FHS. This is a big undertaking but with over 2200 students at FHS this can be done!

We also provide an amazing lunch from parent donations of home made items and PTSA purchased sandwich platters. As our membership is much lower this year than in years past, we do not have as much budget available to purchase the sandwich platters for the luncheon.

Please consider making a donation towards the gift cards and sandwich platters for the luncheon. You can send a check to the school made payable to FHS PTSA or pay online at the Fairfax PTSA homepage.

Click here for FHS PTSA PayPal Link

 Or

You can purchase a gift card to a local store, restaurant or movie theater and send it to the front office at Fairfax with your student, or by US Mail.

(Fairfax HS PTSA 3501 Rebel Run, Fairfax, VA 22030 ATTN: Christina McDonald)

Please send checks or gift card donations into school no later than Monday April 8th so we have time to organize! Your monetary donations via check or PayPal are tax deductible.

We also need specific items to go along with the sandwich platters and parent volunteers to assist at the lunch. Please sign up at the below SUG if you can:
