Clermont Field Day

Field Day is quickly approaching! This year Field Day is Thursday, April 11th. Grades K-3 will have Field Day in the morning from 9:30 am-12:00 pm and grades 4-6 will have Field Day in the afternoon from 1:30-3:30 pm.

Thank you to all the parent volunteers who have signed up to help. Volunteers, please plan to arrive 15 minutes early at the gym to receive your station assignment and description of the event you will help host.

Students will need to wear appropriate footwear for field day (no crocs, sandals, slip-ons, or open toed shoes). Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle, hat, and sunscreen. We look forward to enjoying a fun day in the sun with the Clermont community!

Thank you,

Mrs. Velishka and Mrs. Hammons

April is Month of the Military Child; Purple Up Day is April 10

An image shows purple silhouettes of children with the phrase "Purple Up for Military Kids"

Each year our nation designates April as the Month of the Military Child to recognize and thank children from military families for the sacrifices they make living the military lifestyle. During the month, one day is selected as the day to “Purple Up! For Military Kids” and all are encouraged to wear purple. Why purple? Purple is the color that symbolizes all branches of the military.

This year Purple Up day will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 10. Please join us and wear purple too!

Traffic Patterns

For the safety of all children, car riders MUST use the kiss and ride loop at arrival and dismissal. The bus loop is not to be used for student drop off in the mornings. Also, our expectation for walkers is that the crosswalks are used when crossing Clermont Drive. A reminder to drivers, please do not make U-turns on Clermont Drive, and please be sure not to block entrances and exits at arrival and dismissal. There is an established traffic pattern that we ask all parents to follow. Thank you for your support.

Odyssey of the Mind

Congratulations to our awesome 6th grade Odyssey of the Mind team (Isaac Workman, Egan Heisey-Grove, Cora Reese, Cianna Heidelmark, Kelly Mizell, and Jose Franco) who did an incredible job at the regional tournament last month and came in first in their division. They are off to the Virginia State Finals tomorrow afternoon where they will compete against 7 other teams from across the state for their chance to move onto Worlds next month. Go team!!
