Thursday April 4th is Decades Day! Dress like your favorite decade.
Eagle View students reached the schoolwide goal of earning 9,000 Eagle Bucks by April 1st. To celebrate we will have a “Decades Day” spirit day on Thursday, April 4th. Great job students and keep on earning Eagle Bucks by respecting self, others, and surroundings!
Do you have a rising Kindergartner? Eagle View will be holding our Kindergarten Orientation on April 5, 2019 at 2:00PM. Parents and students will have the opportunity to meet our teachers, visit the classrooms, and attend a presentation about the program and the registration process. All children who reach their fifth birthday on or before September 30, 2019 are eligible for Kindergarten enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year. Registration is now open. Documentation required for entry includes physical examination with record of immunization, birth certificate, and proof of residency. Additional information is available at https://www.fcps.edu/registration/kindergarten-registration.
We would appreciate your assistance in sharing this information with neighbors who have preschool children and encouraging them to contact the school office for Kindergarten enrollment information. Our school office phone number is 703-322-3100.
If yes, he or she may need a booster dose of Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis). Sixth grade students cannot begin school in August without documentation of the Tdap booster. Parents or guardians should ask their private healthcare provider, or the health department, to review their child’s immunization record if they are unsure if their child has received the Tdap booster.
Students who have received a Tdap booster between the ages of seven and eleven do not need another dose. Documentation must be provided to the school student information assistant (SIA) or registrar as soon as possible.

The Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) tests are required of all students in Grades 3-8 across the state by the Virginia Department of Education. SOL tests measure the extent to which students have learned the content and skills specified in the Virginia SOLs. In order to assist your spring planning, the SOL schedule is listed below. Please avoid appointments that will take your child out of school during testing.
VDOE and Fairfax County Public Schools have an electronic device policy which is to be followed during all SOL testing. To maintain test security, the possession of these devices (e.g., cell phones/mobile communication devices, Apple Watch, FitBit) in the testing room is prohibited. If a student is discovered with a prohibited electronic device while in a test environment, the student’s test will be stopped, the electronic device will be confiscated, and the student will be removed from the test environment. School administrators, consistent with the Acceptable Use Policy and Student Rights and Responsibilities, have authority to search the “item of personal belonging” (e.g., the cell phone or mobile device) if it is believed to contain evidence of a violation of school regulations (in this case, cheating). School administrators have the right to apply school-based consequences based upon their investigation of the situation. Please talk to your student about the electronic device policy and the serious consequences of violating it.
