Library News
It’s Time to Take a Break and Read!
A tradition at Irving takes place each Spring Break. During the break, students and faculty members are encouraged to take a photo of themselves reading. Through the years we’ve had photos of students reading in front of the Eiffel Tower, on horseback at a beach, in front of the Alamo, on the couch with a bunch of younger siblings, or on a hammock in the backyard. At the end of the break, one 7th grader, one 8th grader and one faculty member are picked at random and awarded a gift card for books. All of the photographs we receive are displayed on a bulletin board outside the library doors.
Whatever your Spring Break plans are, we hope that they involve some time to read! We’re always happy to recommend a good book if your child wants a suggestion.
Stay tuned for full details of our Take a Break and Read Contest.
