50th Spirit Tattoos

Oak View PTA has generously provided temporary Oak View 50th Logo Tattoos for all students. These will be sent home with students tomorrow, Wednesday. Tattoos may only be applied at home. Students can wear them on Thursday, Friday, Saturday or anytime they would like to share their Oak View pride. This is a family choice to participate and students are not required. We thank our generous PTA for making this possible.

50th Celebration Schedule

Oak View is so appreciative of the 25+ staff/PTA parent planning committees who have combined their powers to produce a 50th Celebration/Golden Eagle Fest that will be unmatched! Please read on for the schedule of events and make plans to attend as many as possible!  Event runs 11:00 AM- 3:00 PM.  Everyone is Welcome!

11:00 - 11:20: The United States Army Old Guard Fife & Drum Corps Performance

11:30 - 12:00: 50th Anniversary Celebration Ceremony

12:00 - 2:00: Food Trucks for lunch, Oak View Decades Artifacts, Technology through the Ages, Tour the School, Oak View Crafts

12:00 - 3:00: Photo Booth, Games/Raffle/Silent Auction, Carnival Rides

Event Parking Saturday

Oak View reminds families to park within the neighborhood where permitted or at Robinson Secondary School. A crossing guard will be available to safely assist guests crossing Sideburn Road. The Oak View parking lots and bus loop will not be available Saturday. Many spaces are reserved for guests requiring assistance and places for food trucks and rides. Make plans to park and walk the short distance to see all scheduled events!

Original Oak View Song Debuts Saturday

Oak View is excited to share that Mrs. Betsy Sweet, one of our talented general music teachers, has created a song to commemorate our 50th Anniversary and celebrate what it means to be an Eagle.  Join us on Saturday at the Ceremony for the first-time performance of this special anthem. We look forward to sharing this with you.

Eagle Fest Silent Auction NOW OPEN

Oak View invites families to visit this link to view auction items to support the Oak View PTA. We have even more items this year to enjoy. Many staff are again hosting experiences and these are always popular options! Thank you to Mrs. Bartley for organizing and securing donations from many families and local businesses. Bidding is open through 10:00 PM, Saturday, March 30.

Oak View Celebrates 50 on Flipgrid

In addition to joining us on Saturday, March 30, we invite all current and former Eagles to share a memory at oakview50 Flipgrid.  Learn some fun facts about Oak View, see familiar faces, and share your favorite memories of our awesome school! We look forward to sharing pics and messages with Eagles both near and far through this technology. Be sure to pass along and share with former families! This will be an awesome addition to our Golden Eagle Anniversary!

FCPS Values Your Opinion

On March 24th, you will receive an invitation from Dr. Scott Brabrand, Superintendent of Fairfax County Public Schools to participate in the 2019 FCPS Family Engagement Survey!

We would love for you to complete the survey letting us know how we are doing in the areas of:

  • Communicating.
  • Providing you opportunities to partner.
  • Developing positive relationships.
  • Ensuring student success and more.

The survey will be available between March 24th- April 12th.

The information we learn from you will help us strengthen family engagement and continue fostering a Caring Culture throughout FCPS.

 There are 3 ways you can complete the survey.

  1. Check your email after March 24 for an invitation with a survey link from Dr. Scott Brabrand, Superintendent with subject line: FCPS Family Engagement Survey.
  2. Ask the front office staff for a paper survey. You can complete it right there on the spot.
  3. Complete the online survey using one of the school computers. The office staff would be happy to show you an available computer for you to complete the survey electronically at the school.

We honor your opinion and commitment to your child and our schools. We strive to make it a better place for ALL!
