ART SHOW - PHOTOS BY MADDIE JOHNSON
Dear Parents,
Happy BEAUTIFUL FRIDAY! I am looking very forward to seeing our spring sports in action and on our fields this evening, enjoying the weather and our community. Weeks like these make my work very, very easy.
Yesterday, we had our annual Pyramid Art Show. It was fun to see so many of our talented artists speaking so passionately about their work, and I even selected one of our outstanding young artists for a Principal’s Award. Congratulations to Dianne Diaz Torres, whose photography, drawings, and paintings left me speechless. A heartfelt thank you to our talented student artists and incredible art department: Your time, talents, and treasures are worth the many, many accolades that I heard spoken yesterday.
In case you hadn’t heard, we had over 2500 visitors to our first Writing Days. Two of our English teachers, Ms. Cutter and Ms. Davis coordinated this incredible event, chock full of talks from published authors of all sorts. Providing an opportunity for our students to see how writing can be used to impress, impact, and influence our world is so important, and we look forward to hosting this event every year.
Our Science Olympiad took third in the state last weekend, and we couldn’t be prouder—and even prouder, our own Cathy Williams won an award for 30 years of advising for Science Olympiad. She loves and lives this work, and it has provided so many opportunities for our students. Please join me in thanking her for her continued service and countless hours to enrich their (and our) lives.
As I end my message this Friday, I have been reminded to remind our community that the mulch delivery is this weekend—we can get out in our yards and get our spring going in full gear!
Wishing you all the best,
Erin B. Lenart

DID YOU KNOW? April is Month of the Military Child? PURPLE UP Day, April 10, 2019, is a national day of recognition to show support for military youth and families by wearing purple. Why purple? Purple is the color of all the service colors blended together.
On April 4th the School Board will recognize our military students and their families at the School Board meeting beginning at 7 pm at Luther Jackson MS. Please invite your military students and families to attend, be recognized, and have their picture taken with Dr. Brabrand and our School Board.
