Dear Key MS Families,
We are excited that our 8th graders are going over to Lee HS Friday for a visit and to learn more about the high school experience. Parents, please keep an eye out for updates from our PTA and ways you can support this important organization. We have 2 weeks left in the 3rd quarter, so remind our students to check in with teachers for any work that needs to be completed. The Finance Park field trips were a huge success and we want to thank all who volunteered.
Girls Hoops at Lee HS
Beginning March 13th, all Key MS girls are invited to Lee HS girls basketball workouts, open gym to play and develop your skills every Wednesday night at Lee HS Main Gym from 5:30-7:30pm. Enjoy a free night of fitness and fun!
A Message from Lee High School:Please help us raise funds for our support groups/mentor programs, Beautiful and Progressive Educated Sisters (BAPES) and Powerful African American Males About Success (PAAMAS). We don’t want your money, just your unwanted items. To find out more about our programs click the links below: PAAMAS Videohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hG9GczdOXCo

Tardiness and Hall Sweeps
We have a growing number of students that are arriving late to class. In order to discourage tardiness we will begin having multiple hall sweeps each week. If a student is caught in a sweep without an excused tardy pass they will be assigned an after school detention. Please take a moment to encourage your student to get to all of their classes on time and support our efforts to continue with a positive school culture and learning environment.
FCPS Values Your Opinion
On March 24th, you will receive an invitation from Dr. Scott Brabrand, Superintendent of Fairfax County Public Schools to participate in the 2019 FCPS Family Engagement Survey!
We would love for you to complete the survey letting us know how we are doing in the areas of:
- Communicating.
- Providing you opportunities to partner.
- Developing positive relationships.
- Ensuring student success and more.
The survey will be available between March 24th- April 12th.
The information we learn from you will help us strengthen family engagement and continue fostering a Caring Culture throughout FCPS.
There are 3 ways you can complete the survey.
- Check your email after March 24 for an invitation with a survey link from Dr. Scott Brabrand, Superintendent with subject line: FCPS Family Engagement Survey.
- Ask the front office staff for a paper survey. You can complete it right there on the spot.
- Complete the online survey using one of the school computers. The office staff would be happy to show you an available computer for you to complete the survey electronically at the school.
We honor your opinion and commitment to your child and our schools. We strive to make it a better place for ALL!

Kiss-N-Ride Procedures: Students should be dropped off only on the Franconia Rd side of the building in the morning. We have staff and students walking in the area and we want to keep that area safe for everyone.
