The basketball games between Franklin and Rocky Run at Chantilly High School will be a great opportunity for our students to show their Franklin pride. Students have been reminded that SR&R will be in effect for the basketball games and they should continue to be respectful of others and CHS property as they enjoy the action. This is a fun community event and family members are encouraged to attend along with their FMS students to root for the Falcons.

Doors open at 5:30 pm and the entire event will be finished prior to 9 pm. All students should have arrangements to be picked up by 9 pm. No staff supervision will be provided beyond 9 pm. We want this event to be a fond, middle school memory for your child. Thank you for your support and…..Go Falcons!!!!!

AFTER SCHOOL

Principal Evaluation Feedback Form

This spring all Franklin Middle School parents will be contacted through email or text message with a link to the FCPS Principal Evaluation Parent/Guardian Feedback Form Online. This survey is part of the Performance Evaluation Program and offers parents an opportunity to provide anonymous input about various issues related to our school.  These issues include instructional leadership, school climate, human resources management, organizational management, communication and community relations and professionalism.

The survey will be collected online between March 13 and March 27.  When you receive an email or text message from FCPS Surveys, please take a few minutes to complete the survey.  Your opinions matter.

Family Engagement Survey

On March 24th, you will receive an invitation from Dr. Scott Brabrand, Superintendent of Fairfax County Public Schools to participate in the 2019 FCPS Family Engagement Survey!

We would love for you to complete the survey letting us know how we are doing in the areas of:

  • Providing you opportunities to partner.
  • Developing positive relationships.
  • Ensuring student success and more.

The survey will be available between March 24th- April 12th.

The information we learn from you will help us strengthen family engagement and continue fostering a Caring Culture throughout FCPS.

There are 3 ways you can complete the survey.

  1. Check your email after March 24 for an invitation with a survey link from Dr. Scott Brabrand, Superintendent with subject line: FCPS Family Engagement Survey.
  2. Ask the front office staff for a paper survey. You can complete it right there on the spot.
  3. Complete the online survey using one of the school computers. The office staff would be happy to show you an available computer for you to complete the survey electronically at the school.

We honor your opinion and commitment to your child and our schools. We strive to make it a better place for ALL!

For more information, please contact your Lea Fadden via ltfadden@fcps.edu at Franklin MS.

NJHS Members- Service Hours Reminder

Thank you for continuing to run the NJHS announcement.  Can we modify it for this week?

NJHS Students and Parents

In order to maintain status as an NJHS member, students are required to

  • Complete 15 service hours in service of an FCPS school (separate from and in addition to Civics Service Learning Hours)
  • Maintain a 3.5 cumulative GPA
  • Uphold the Pillars of NJHS

Today students that currently are not in compliance with one or more of those categories have received a letter detailing what they need to complete to maintain their member status.  This in no way removes students from NJHS at this time.  However, changes will need to be made in order for them to attend our pinning ceremony in May.  Final GPA calculations will be done at the end of the 3rd quarter (April 4, 2019) and service hours are due April 30, 2019 (service hour calculations in the letter were correct as of 2:30 pm on Wednesday 3/6) .

Parents of 8th grade NJHS members- please ask your students if they received a letter during Learning Seminar today so you can be aware of their membership status.  If you have any questions you can reach out to Molly Bridenbaugh (NJHS Faculty Co-Advisor) at mbridenbaugh@fcps.edu
