SCHOOL NEWS:

Welcome on Monday to Brianna Salvato, long term substitute for Mrs. Miller.

FCPS Values Your Opinion: On March 24th, you will receive an invitation from Dr. Scott Brabrand, Superintendent of Fairfax County Public Schools to participate in the 2019 FCPS Family Engagement Survey! 

We would love for you to complete the survey letting us know how we are doing.  I will send a separate News you Choose exclusively about this survey next week.

April 5th - Kindergarten Orientation - starts at 9:00, check in as early as 8:50.  It should last until about 10:45.  We will have spirit wear for sale.  Bring cash and your rising kinder!  

(NOTE: April 5th is a teacher work day)

Coming Up on March 28th: 6th Grade Silver Diner Night!  5:00-8:00 at the Springfield Mall Silver Diner.  This is a fun night to celebrate the 6th graders and fundraise for their end of year party.  There will be a 50-50 raffle, too.  Bring cash for the raffle.

WSHS Girls B-ball Camp: Girls basketball camp at West Springfield High School, June 17-21.  Girls entering grades 3rd - 9th. All Levels. For more information contact Coach Gibson:  WRGibson@fcps.edu

LAPS FOR LEARNING/HEALTH FAIR: TOMORROW!! EVERYONE COME!!

BRING PLEDGE SHEETS - BUT NOT MONEY!

Laps for Learning and Health Fair – March 23 – Check In starts at 8:30

This year’s final lap ends at an obstacle moon bounce and kids will be cheered on by a live DJ! We do need your help! Please consider volunteering at this fun filled event! EVERYONE can participate in the Fun Run.  You do not need to collect money to participate.

After the Fun Run, please join us in the cafeteria for our Health Fair, 9:30-11:00. Community members will be there including the FCPS Nutrition Office, EMA, the fire department, bicycle activities, MyGym Burke, Red Line Athletics, Rocky, and more! It will be a great time for everyone!

Spring After School Activities:  Below you will find a listing of the PTA-sponsored after-school activities that are being offered this April. Flyers providing more detail and registration information are included in this packet. For any questions, please contact the PTA’s After-School Programs Coordinator, Lisa Callahan, at (703)338-2989 or lisa.callahan27@gmail.com.  All class offerings use online registration and are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please be aware that some classes will not run if there are insufficient students. If this is the case, your money will be refunded. For scholarship information, or to apply for a scholarship, please contact Mrs. Boland as soon as possible.

Pizza! Pizza! The Papa John’s Buy One, Get One Free cards are back!
