Please join in the 2019 Mount Vernon Pyramid Art Show in Room G100. Artwork will be on display from the following schools in the Mount Vernon Pyramid:
Mount Vernon Woods Elementary
Riverside Elementary
Woodlawn Elementary
Washington Mills Elementary
For Belvoir Elementary
Woodley Hills Elementary
Walt Whitman Middle School
Mount Vernon HS
IB Art students will also have individually curated displays of their work.

9th Annual STEAM/Science Fair & Kids Lab Parent Night
What a great evening!
Our Science Fair and Kids Lab Parent Night was a huge success. Students proudly presented their science fair projects and had fun doing STEAM activities sponsored by Marymount University. It was wonderful to see our families come to see the hard work of our students. Here are a few images from the evening. Check out our Facebook page for more photos from last night!
Anthony La Fond won 1st place in the Behavioral and Social Sciences category for his Listen to the Beat! project which explored how heartrate responds to different types of music. Congratulations!

April - Month of the Military Child
In honor of Month of the Military Child, please join us on April 4th from 12pm-1:30 pm at Ft. Belvoir Upper School to have your photo taken with your child/children. We are looking to photograph only 15 families. The only thing we ask is that you are in uniform for these photos. If you are available please RSVP via email by March 29th to LaKisha Denise at ladenise@fcps.edu to be added to the photograph list.
We always welcome the opportunity to see the parents of our amazing students. These photos could be featured on Fairfax County Public Schools website for the month of April in honor of Month of the Military Child.

2019 Family Engagement Survey

On March 24th, you will receive an invitation from Dr. Scott Brabrand, Superintendent of Fairfax County Public Schools to participate in the 2019 FCPS Family Engagement Survey!
We would love for you to complete the survey letting us know how we are doing in the areas of:
• Communicating.
• Providing you opportunities to partner.
• Developing positive relationships.
• Ensuring student success and more.
The survey will be available between March 24th- April 12th.
The information we learn from you will help us strengthen family engagement and continue fostering a Caring Culture throughout FCPS.
There are 3 ways you can complete the survey:
1. Check your email after March 24 for an invitation with a survey link from Dr. Scott Brabrand, Superintendent with the subject line: FCPS Family Engagement Survey.
2. Ask our front office staff for a paper survey. You can complete it right there on the spot.
3. Complete the online survey using one of the school computers. The office staff would be happy to show you an available computer for you to complete the survey electronically at the school.

Fort Belvoir Primary and Fort Belvoir Upper are still on the hunt for great substitute teachers and substitute instructional assistants! We love working with our military spouses in this capacity, as they already have clearance to be on the installation, and they understand and love our kiddos.
