Fairfax Villa Tuesday Message

Enjoying outdoor reading in the Villa Garden!

Dear Fairfax Villa Parents and Community Members,

One of our main priorities at this time is to enhance our school communications.  We believe that solid communication between home and school enables school staff and parents to work in a collaborative manner to best support student success.  In order to streamline school communications to ensure you are informed of school-related events and information, Fairfax Villa will plan to communicate with families in the following ways:

  • Tuesday folders – will continue to be sent home weekly with students to include student work samples and school flyers
  • News You Choose messages- will continue to be emailed to enrolled families every Tuesday
  • eNotify messages- will continue to be used to provide families with emergency information or special announcements
  • Fairfax Villa School Website  (https://fairfaxvillaes.fcps.edu/) – will continue to be used to post dates of upcoming events and announcements

Thank you for your support as we continue to work collaboratively in the best interest of our students.

Dave Gerstner, Principal

KJ An, Assistant Principal

TONY HOFFMAN TO SPEAK AT W.T. WOODSON HS

Wednesday, March 27th at 7:00 p.m.

W.T. Woodson HS is hosting guest speaker Tony Hoffman to talk to parents about drug use.  Tony will share his specific “choice” that changed his life forever. Tony walks audiences through a candid set of choices, attitudes, and thought processes that lead him to his first drug.  His story is full of redemption as he has seen some of the highest highs, and the lowest lows.  Students will hear Mr. Hoffman during returns and parents are invited that evening at 7:00 p.m. to hear his message. The event is free of charge, but please RSVP at Eventbrite.

VILLA FUN RUN POWERED BY BOOSTERTHON!

Once again, Fairfax Villa will be participating in Boosterthon!  The program this year is called MindSpark Mystery Lab, a science-infused mystery theme all about solving problems with character.  This theme combines S.T.E.A.M. skills with character building.  This program will run April 1- April 11, with the Fun Run happening April 11.  More information will be going out in the next few weeks.  And thanks to our sponsors, all students will be receiving t-shirts! Fairfax Villa has a goal to raise $15,000.00 for computers for 4th grade and supplies for all grades.  Last year, our school profited $18,000.00 to fund computers for 5th grade and books for the reading program.  Help us reach our goal this year by connecting with sponsors!

SUPPORTING THE PTA

There are three ways you can support the PTA.  1. Join the PTA!  When you join the PTA, you become an advocate for your child and every other Villa student.  We normally meet the third Wednesday of the month and many times will have guest speakers or other programs as well.  PTA Membership forms will be in your student’s Tuesday folder.   You can also join online at http://villapta.ptboard.com.  The school code is DRAPTE.  2. Donate!  Any amount given is helpful and it all goes into benefits and services that benefit the Villa staff and students.  3. Volunteer!  Volunteering is NOT required but it is always greatly appreciated.  If you have any questions, please contact us at villapta@gmail.com
