The Franklin Sherman Flash - March 25

What's Happening in 6th Grade?

FSES sixth graders have been been hard at work on their production of Shrek, Jr.  The students are becoming more confident as a result of their collaboration and dedication to the show.  Come see for yourself on Wednesday, April 3!

Attention Rising Kindergarten Parents

The FSES Kindergarten Orientation will be held on Friday, April 5, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.  If you are the parent of a rising kindergarten student for the 2019-2020 school year, please notify Ann Rajabi, the FSES Registrar/Student Information Assistant, so she can add your child to the orientation roster and send you the orientation information.  You may contact her at (703) 506-7901 or arajabi@fcps.edu.  Also, if you know any families who live within the Franklin Sherman boundary and who have a rising kindergartener, please direct them to contact Mrs. Rajabi as well.

Vaping: What Students Should Know (and Parents Too)

FCPS has created a student focused webpage that provides information about vaping risks, resources, and videos featuring FCPS students.

You can find information that might be helpful for you as a parent at the following website:  https://www.fcps.edu/blog/vaping-what-students-should-know-and-parents-too

Information specifically directed toward educating students can be found at:  https://www.fcps.edu/vaping

We hope you will find these resources helpful as you discuss this serious health risk with your children.

If you would like to learn more or have your questions answered, please join us at the May 1 FSES PTA meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the school library.  A guest speaker from FCPS Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs Intervention Programs will share information regarding the dangers of vaping.

PTA After School Activities Contact Information

FSES office hours are 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.  If your child participates in a PTA sponsored after school activity and you need to contact someone after 4:30 p.m., please text Sissi Hopper at (917) 523-1817.
