The goal of this event is to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones, especially among children and young adults. We will start the evening by meeting and greeting everyone in the cafeteria with a pasta dinner. Next, we will watch the movie, "Screenagers" which takes a look into the vulnerable corners of family life, to explore struggles over social media, video games, academics, and internet addiction. Next, we will get the conversation started through an interactive presentation and then break up into smaller groups for parents and children to work together on activities designed to keep the conversation going at the family level.
This event is open to anyone who uses a screen, lives with someone who uses a screen, or works with people who use screens. They are everywhere! The movie and interactive discussions are designed for young adults, middle schoolers, and their parents. Teachers, counselors, and administrators would benefit from this presentation as well.
For more information please go to our event page listed on our AHS PTSA website under Programs/Events tab. It is listed as "Digital Families Community Event".
We look forward to seeing you and your family on March 22nd!
