Dr. Kohn from West Virginia University visited sixth grade cello and bass students to give expert feedback and pointers.
This spring, all Greenbriar West parents will be contacted through e-mail or text message with a link to the FCPS Principal Evaluation Parent/Guardian Feedback Form Online. This survey is part of the Performance Evaluation Program and offers parents an opportunity to provide anonymous input about various issues related to our school. These issues include instructional leadership, school climate, human resources management, organizational management, communication and community relations, and professionalism.
This survey will be collected online through March 27. When you receive an e-mail or text message from FCPS Surveys, please take a few minutes to complete the survey. Your opinions matter. Thank you!
On Tuesday, April 2, GBW will welcome author Russell Ginns to visit with grades 3-6! He will be discussing his round-the-world adventure starring Sam Spinner and her brother Nipper. You may wish to visit Russell’s website for more information about him and his books at www.samanthaspinner.com. GBW students have the opportunity to purchase his books before his visit. A flier is coming home today in Thursday folders with more details. The books will be delivered to school and autographed by the author on the day of his visit.
Does your child ask a lot of questions about the world around them? Do they love to figure out how things work and move? You must have a Scientist in the family! Greenbriar West’s Annual Science Fair will be on Wednesday, April 3rd from 5:30-7:30 pm. Students in grades 2-6 are invited to participate and show off their scientific minds.
If your child is interested in participating, please submit an online registration form no later than Wednesday, March 20th (each student must register, even if working with a partner). The online registration form is available on the GBW website or just click on the link below. We look forward to a wonderful celebration of science!

The GBW Read-a-Thon will run from March 18, through April 12. Watch out for the material that will be sent home soon in the Thursday folder, with personalized codes.
Read-A-Thon is such a great opportunity for us to remain focused on education and still raise money. All reading at home counts! Simultaneously, students invite friends and family to support their reading effort with a donation. That’s it!
What activities does Read-a-thon help support?
Funds raised will go towards the GBW PTA Budget to support school enrichment programs, classroom activities, field trips, and more.
