OHBball Collage

Great players, game, and crowd for the annual Lees Corner vs. Oak Hill basketball game.

Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

What an awesome 6th Grade Basketball Game last Friday night!  So many of you were able to come out and support our school with either your attendance or through the many volunteer positions.  Did you hear the final score?  Oak Hill 80 and Lees Corner 24!  Most importantly, our students showed great sportsmanship and made many memories to take with them in the years ahead.  Lees Corner did edge Oak Hill in the Staff Shoot Out, but boy did we have a ton of fun trying!

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to further support your child’s learning and experience at Oak Hill.  My door is always open!

Sincerely,

Holly DeVore, Principal

Talent Show

talent show

Attention all 6th graders!  If you are interested in being on the backstage crew or the emcee crew for the talent show in June, please fill out this form.  The backstage crew and emcees will be chosen by lottery and those chosen will be notified on March 15th.  If you are not selected for the backstage crew or emcee, you can then sign up for an audition. Audition forms will be available on March 18th.   Please let Mrs. Hood (kshood@fcps.edu) know if you have any questions.

Crayola ColorCycle

Colorcycle

Crayola has launched an initiative called Crayola ColorCycle to help students understand the importance of their role in protecting the environment.  Through this initiative, students at Oak Hill will collect and repurpose used Crayola markers.  There will be 6 collection boxes located in the school: one in each pod, one in the modular, and one in the lobby.  Please drop off your old Crayola markers and help our environment!  Donations will be taken through the end of the school year.

Fourth grade brochures on bodies of water in Virginia.

Chinese News

Spring is coming! It’s an exciting time for the 5th graders as they are learning about the native plants for Virginia. They are learning the different types of plants and the living environment the plants like. At end of this unit, they will design their own garden.

The 4th grade has finished their bodies of water unit. They made a brochure to talk about types of water in Virginia. They included both the living things in the water and the fun activities you can do in various bodies of water.
