VBODA DISTRICT X ORCHESTRA ASSESSMENT AT FALLS CHURCH HS!

Dear Family Fairfax,

It has been a relatively quiet week this week.  Certainly, our students are still preparing for assessment, we had an outstanding showing at the orchestra assessment last weekend and It’s Academic, and our Winter Athletic Banquet and celebration was on Monday, but for Fairfax High School, I have learned that THAT is a quieter week for us.  Next week, on the other hand…

I had the opportunity to meet with several of the club student leaders yesterday.  We have been working on establishing a Club Council that consists of representation from our each of our clubs, to discuss student activities, ideas, and innovation.  It was fun hearing their unique perspectives and seeing how easily they were working alongside each other…even with the diversity of clubs and student interests in the room.  In the near future, I hope to have the Club Council fully established with monthly or bi-monthly meetings.  Hopefully, the outcome will be an even more student-centered Fairfax High School—we should all be proud of our pride.

I wanted to send a reminder to parents that our students should not be accepting food delivery during the day.   Not only for the obvious safety and security reasons: my security staff and I do not know if it is, in fact; a food delivery; who is that driver (is it really Uber Eats); and, allowing packages to be brought into the building to the main office or handed off to students throughout the course of the day.   It is impossible for us to safely monitor.  Please help us by helping your student understand why this rule is in place.  Also, for your reference, here is a link to our school lunch menu at Fairfax:  Lunch Menu  It truly is international fair that is offered at Fairfax every day by our hardworking Energy Zone staff!

I hope your family stays warm and dry this weekend!

Rebels Need to Know:

A Reminder to Parents and Students:

Please keep a sick child home. Please do not send your child to school if he/she has a fever or is vomiting. It is recommended that your child be fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medication before returning to school.

All students are required to go to the clinic when feeling ill during the school day.  Please ask your teacher for a pass to go to the clinic when feeling ill.  The clinic will assess you and contact your parent to pick you up.   This procedure is for your care and also allows our clinic to track school illnesses.  It also streamlines the pick-up process for your parents/guardians.  Thank you.

Meeting for Parents About FCPSOn
