March 11 3-hour Early Release (Dismissal time: 12:20 pm)
Starting Thursday, March 7th, Annandale Terrace Elementary School will participate in the "Uncle Slam's Reading Program". This program is brought to us by The Potomac Nationals, the Carolina League affiliate of the Washington Nationals. Students will be receiving a bookmark on March 7th. They must read 4 appropriate levels books and document that reading on the bookmark. Then, students bring the bookmark to the 1:05 game on June 9th to the stadium (7 County Complex Ct. Woodbridge, VA 22192) in exchange for two grandstand tickets to that game! (alternate dates available) Students will also have an opportunity to take part in a parade on field prior to the game to celebrate reading. Please contact Jessica Vitale, Reading Specialist, if you have any questions or for further details.
Join our very active Annandale Terrace Parent-Teacher Association in March and support our school! Now our school is under construction, and we need your support more than ever. In-school fund-raising activities will be limited due to construction, so we are asking for you to consider joining if you are not already a member of the PTA. We encourage both parents and teachers to join now and help fund our students’ field trips, special assemblies and other enrichment activities. Another way to support your PTA is to purchase one of our new “If you can be anything, be kind” T-shirts or the new tie-dyed Annandale Terrace T-shirts. PTA members receive a discount. Forms for membership and T-shirts had been sent home, or you can come by the Parent Center to pick up these forms.
