Our sixth graders starting the Glow Run.
Click for Kids
Imagine all the amazing things you could do with $10,000 dollars!
At Brookfield Elementary we don’t have to imagine, we already know because WTOP is offering Fairfax County schools the chance to win $10,000 with the “Click for Kids” sweepstakes! Many of you helped us with donations to open our MakerSpace. It has just officially opened and now we'd like to watch it grow by adding more building supplies like Rigamajigs and Ozobot robots. All you need to do is VOTE, once a day, EVERY day.

Brookfield Book Fair
Brookfield’s Book Worm Central Book Fair is coming soon! It will be open from March 7th though the 15th with lots of fabulous reading items for your kids. Miss Wilson and Mrs. Riddell will need plenty of parent volunteers to keep it up and running, so if you are able to help, please contact us. You can reach us at CTWilson@fcps.edu or JORiddell@fcps.edu.
Look for the Book Fair Flyer in the February 26 Tuesday folder with more information about dates and volunteering.
Positivity Project - #OtherPeopleMatter
This element of the Other People Matter Mindset (OPM2) means that when other people succeed, you are happy for them and cheer them on.
Being happy for other people when they succeed isn’t always everyone’s initial reaction. Often, it’s easy to become jealous or envious of others’ victories – or even to experience schadenfreude, which is deriving pleasure from witnessing (or learning about) another person’s misfortune. People who have these reactions to the success or misfortune of others are colloquially known as “haters.” It’s important to note that these are natural emotions and in small doses can be helpful in allowing us to see what we care about – and motivate us to pursue those goals.
