Dear Wolftrap Families,
KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION: If you have not signed up to attend our orientation, please do so at this link https://wolftrapes.fcps.edu/student-services/kindergarten-orientationtimelines. The event will take place on Friday, April 5, at 9:00 AM.
SCHOOL HEALTH SERVICES SURVEY: The Fairfax County Health Department (FCHD) employs school health aides and public health nurses who provide school health services to the students in FCPS. To determine the quality of these services, a survey has been developed by the FCHD to be shared with all parents who interact with the school health rooms: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/85QGH7C
The survey will take less than five minutes to complete and will provide the FCHD with valuable information.
STUDENT INTENT FORMS: Each Wolftrap student received a “Student’s Intention for the Next School Year” form. For planning purposes for the 2019-20 school year, everyone needs to fill it out and return it promptly. It is imperative that we know your child’s intention so that our projection numbers are accurately portrayed to the county and we receive appropriate staffing. If your enrollment plans change subsequent to submittal of the form, please contact the main office.
RESOURCES FOR STUDENTS: In case you are not aware, the Wolftrap website contains a page dedicated to student resources to support student learning at home. This includes all of the Wolftrap subscriptions such as DreamBox math, MyOn, Wixie and coding sites. Additionally, there are websites for typing and internet safety: https://wolftrapes.fcps.edu/student-links
We are very excited about the Wolftrap vs. Louise Archer volleyball game this Saturday! Please remember to come out to Madison HS at 6:00 PM to cheer on the Wolftrap staff!
Sincerely,
Teresa Khuluki
Principal
March Madness is taking on new meaning this month with all that is going on at Wolftrap. Here are a few things from a PTA perspective.
PTA Survey: We are pleased to announce that the results to our survey, titled 2018-2019 PTA Feedback/Questionnaire, are in! The objective of this survey was to take the pulse of the Wolftrap ES community on PTA meetings, events, spend priorities, and communications. A total of 117 responses were received and analyzed. The results will be summarized at our meeting this Friday at 8:45 am in the teacher’s lounge.
PTA Meeting: Yes! As noted above, the March PTA meeting is this week, Friday March 8that 8:45am in the teacher’s lounge. In addition to a review of the survey responses, items on the agenda for this meeting include the principal’s message and an update from the 5K planning committee on this important fundraiser. The full agenda is posted each month prior to the meeting here. Check it out and we hope to see you there!
PTA Committee Chairs Needed: March is also a time when we start serious planning for next year’s committees and specifically committee leadership in order to ensure we have a chair for each initiative or event. We have identified the following committees in need of a new chairperson for next year:
- Front Sign
- Odyssey of the Mind
- Book Fair
- Faculty Volleyball
Please let us know if you are interested in any of these positions or any other committees on the PTA. We can always use more help. Email ptaboard@wolftrappta.org with any questions or if you are interested in signing up!

Sponsorship Opportunities!
TEACHER SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES: Every class will have the opportunity to sponsor their teacher as a race sponsor. Be on the lookout for an email from your room parent providing details. There will be exciting rewards for the classes that raise that most and have the highest participation levels. DOES YOUR CHILD/CHILDREN WANT TO BE ON THE RACE SHIRT? Each year individual Wolftrap Families sponsor the race -- showing their school pride and earning the opportunity for their family name to appear on the official race t-shirt. Contact funrun@wolftrappta.org for more information.
