Custodians

Oak Hill's awesome custodial team.

Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

We are excited for several events next week at Oak Hill! As you know, we have our annual Lees Corner vs. Oak Hill basketball game on Friday at Chantilly High School. We will be selling spirit wear all next week before school in our lobby. A pep assembly will take place Friday afternoon to send off our 6th grade teams with high energy and good vibes! In addition, I am thrilled to invite Megan Murphy, founder of The Kindness Rocks project, to Oak Hill on Tuesday, March 5th! She will speak to our student body about spreading kindness and fostering inclusivity. The week will culminate with every staff member and student painting a kindness rock! We hope to create a garden in the front of the school entrance for our community to add to and take from. Watch for pictures on Twitter at @principaldevore and @oakhilles. Thank you to the many parent volunteers that are scheduled to come in to help our students design rocks!

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to further support your child’s learning and experience at Oak Hill.  My door is always open!

Sincerely,

Holly DeVore, Principal

Kindness Rocks

kindness

The Kindness Rocks Project is a movement that seeks to "cultivate connections within communities and lift others up through simple acts of kindness." At Oak Hill, we strive to do the same by celebrating kindness and inclusion throughout the school year. This March we are honored to have Meg Murphy, founder of The Kindness Rocks Projects, come speak at our school about cultivation of kindness and how one simple act can influence the community around us. In conjunction with Meg Murphy's visit, Oak Hill will be doing our own kindness project for our students and community. We plan to create a kindness garden so students, staff and parents can see kindness inside and outside of our school. For more information about Kindness Rocks click here.

Custodial Appreciation

Oak Hill would like to take this opportunity to thank our awesome custodial team.  They are the first to arrive and last to leave each day.  They do so many jobs from clearing the snow, keeping the inside and outside of our school beautiful, while always having a smile on their faces.  Thank you to our custodians, Connie Sibrian, Seongkyu Lee, Brian Jolliffe, Deysi Ayala, and
Tam Nguyen.

Yearbooks

yearbook

The yearbook pre-order deadline is tomorrow,  March 1. The website is ybpay.lifetouch.com and the yearbook code is 13278319.  Yearbooks are $19.00.  It is helpful if you order one if you think you will want to have one.  We only have a limited number of yearbooks available at the end of the year and there is usually student demand for those.

Chipotle Spirit Night

Chipotle

Come join us at the Franklin Farm Chipotle this Monday, March 4th, anytime between 4-8 PM. Show the cashier the flyer OR say you are supporting Oak Hill. Chipotle will donate 33% of the proceeds to Oak Hill’s Technology funds. Have fun and help Oak Hill ES raise funds for technology at the same time!  We hope to see you there.

  • Matthew Li
