English Writing SOL

All students enrolled in an English 11 course and any senior still needing an English verified credit for graduation will be taking the English Writing SOL in March. This test is composed of two parts, the Short Paper Prompt and the Multiple Choice. Each part will be taken on separate days. The schedule and additional information is available here on the South County Website.

AP Exam Registration

We are now beginning the registration process for the AP testing window!

  • Students who are enrolled in an AP class will automatically be registered for the test which corresponds to their class unless they have turned in their signed AP Opt Out Form.
  • Students who would like to register to take an AP test, but are not enrolled in the class, must turn in the Non-Enrolled AP Registration form available on the South County website or by clicking this link.
    • The non-refundable fee for taking a test if not enrolled in the class, is $93. The form and fee must be turned in by Friday March 1st. No late registrations will be accepted.

 

AP Exam Schedule

The AP Exam Schedule is available on the South County Website or by clicking this link. Please be aware that there are no make-up exam dates.  Late exams can only be given if prior arrangements have been made and approval has been granted by College Board.  Students who are absent from an exam will be charged a $15 unused test fee. 

  • If you know now that your student will have a conflict with one of their AP exams or is scheduled to take two exams at the same time, please see Cameron Mathison in Student Services Office (D107-06) by Friday, March 1st.

    • Any student who withdraws from an AP class will also be charged the $15 unused test fee.
  • Students received the AP Bulletin in January. This publication from College Board discusses each AP exam, provides information needed on testing day, and contains a calendar of the exams.  Please read this Bulletin.  Each student signed a statement indicating that he/she is aware of all of College Board’s policies and procedures.
  • Students enrolled in AP English Language and Composition, AP World History, or AP US History will be receiving information about being opted out of the SOL corresponding to their AP class. If you wish for your student to sit for the SOL in addition to the AP Exam, please fill out the form and return it to Cameron Mathison by Friday March 1st.

 

AP Accommodations
