Paw Print week of March 4-8, 2019

Principal's Message

Dear Panther Families,

What an exciting week at Poplar Tree. We were here all 5 days of the week, with only one delay! The week started off very windy and ended cold with a little snow, but it is March and hopefully spring is coming soon.

FCPS Superintendent, Dr. Brabrand, visited Poplar Tree today to see all of the amazing things that happen at Poplar Tree.  He even joined the Read Across America week by reading to students in his Cat in the Hat attire!

It was great to see everyone celebrating Dr. Seuss and reading throughout the week. Please take some time on Saturday to read with your child on Dr. Seuss' birthday!

We hope you have a super weekend!

Positivity Project

This week we have focused on the character strength of Enthusiasm.

People with enthusiasm and zest have the ability to bring life and excitement to different situations. They are happy, but this strength goes beyond happiness or pleasure. It is an activated positive energy and associated with self-realization and autonomy. Individuals with this strength might be described as: energetic, excited, spirited, animated, passionate and upbeat.

To quote Mary Lou Retton, “Each one of us has a fire in our heart for something. It’s our goal in life to find it and keep it lit.”

If you are interested in learning more about the Positivity Project,  please visit their website or the Poplar Tree website Positivity Project
