PTA Bylaws
Every 5 years we have to reevaluate our bylaws. We presented the proposed charges at the February 7th meeting and will vote on them at our March meeting. We MUST have a quorum in order to vote on the bylaws. If you are a paid member we need you to attend the meeting. We promise to keep it short! As always we will have refreshments and child care available.
You may view the bylaws by visiting: https://centrevillees.ptboard.com/nvg/activity?oid=Fb96INvRR0iLDaJ8HkTAcW9___6XNMIyDQ==
Have a question about the changes? Submit them here, https://goo.gl/forms/BuRMnlCzL8aoNpVq2

Save those Box Tops and send them in to your classroom teacher by February 26th! The class with the most collected gets a class party.

This past week our students focused on:
LOVE
The character strength of love represents the way we think, feel, and behave towards the people with whom we have close relationships. When one person loves another person, that person: comforts and makes the other feel safe; sacrifices on the other’s behalf; supports the other during struggles; and places the other’s needs ahead of his/her own. If you love a person, that person makes you feel safe and secure. You can be yourself with that person. You miss that person when he/she is not around.
Positive psychology looks at love as reciprocal, not one- sided. That means crushes, stalking, and celebrity worship do not fall into this strength. What is contained in this strength are: romantic love and friendship; love between parents and children; and emotional bonds between family members, friends, mentors, teammates, or coworkers.
FCPS Family Engagement Survey
Fairfax County Public Schools will be conducting a survey to gather information about family engagement in our schools. Relationships are important to us, and your opinion is critical to help us support your engagement in your child’s education. Your feedback will also help us determine how well we are reaching the goals for Caring Culture we have set in our Strategic Plan. Survey translations will be made available, and the survey can be taken on electronic devices, including smartphones.
Survey administration is scheduled for March 24-April 12, 2019, and you will receive more information about how to take the survey in the near future.
We look forward to hearing from you!
School Health Services Survey
The Fairfax County Health Department (FCHD) employs school health aides and public health nurses who provide school health services to the students in Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS). To determine the quality of these services, a survey has been developed by the FCHD to be shared with all parents or guardians who interact with the school health rooms. The survey has been approved for distribution by the FCPS’ Internal Survey Advisory Committee.
Electronic versions of the survey forms may be accessed at:
School Health Services Survey – Parents 2019: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/85QGH7C
School Health Services Survey-Parents 2019 (Spanish): https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LLSF55F
The survey will take less than five minutes to complete and will provide the FCHD with valuable information. Your participation in this important endeavor is appreciated.
Thank you for your continued partnership!
