National School Counseling Week

We start off February recognizing our School Counseling Team during National School Counselor Week (February 4 – February 8). We are fortunate to have Katie Sharpe, Starr Arnett, Karen Spradlin, Meredith Braithwaite, and Dominic Williams as part of our team. Our Counseling Team is very dedicated to our children, their families, and to our staff. Attached is a template that students and families can complete to say “thank you” to a school counselor.

Digital Reading

Many of us know the power and love of finding a book that speaks to us as we flip through the pages, excited to see what occurs next.  As we look at the world around us, text no longer exclusively exists in a paper form.  At Saratoga, we have started to dig into reading in a variety of formats throughout our day, particularly with digital texts.  Utilizing digital texts cultivates readers that think critically about text they read online and expands the variety of text which students are exposed.  In addition, our students take many assessments throughout the year online. Being familiar with digital text allows them to demonstrate their understanding of the content.  If you are interested in using digital text at home with your child we have some wonderful free resources available on our website: https://saratogaes.fcps.edu/student-links
