Friday, February 8, 9:00 a.m. Lecture Hall
Join us next Friday for an important mid-year update. We will have FCPS 2019/2020 budget information as well as an update on the overcrowding at McLean. We will also talk about our upcoming March Madness fun between Longfellow and Cooper. Immediately following the meeting, Assistant Principal Rob Plunkett and Director of Student Services, Marissa Brooks will present and answer questions regarding next year for both rising 8th graders and rising 9th graders. Mr. Plunkett was an assistant principal for many years at McLean, and Ms. Brooks has extensive middle and high school experience. This is your opportunity to get all your questions answered and help your student be successful at the next level.

Curriculum Night Thursday, February 7
Do you know anyone with a current 6th grader heading to Longfellow next year? Let them know about Curriculum Night. This is an important way for parents to learn about the classes at Longfellow, as well as the after school clubs and other activities.
Thursday, February 7
Curriculum Night is our first chance to introduce parents of rising 7th graders to our wonderful Longfellow community! As always, we need a lot of volunteers and food donations to help the new parents feel welcome. We will be selling pizza, snacks and baked goods. Your student can earn a community service hour by donating baked goods or snacks, or by helping out at the event. Please see the Sign Up Genius for more information and to sign up.
February 14
On Valentine’s Day, we are treating our teachers and staff to a crock pot chili luncheon. Please sign up here to provide a crock pot full of chili or one of the many other items we need to make this lunch a success. Donations need to be dropped off by 9:30 a.m. the morning of the luncheon in the Food Lab. Thank you for your generosity.
