The Positivity Project (P2) character strength for this week and next is SOCIAL INTELLIGENCE.  Social Intelligence is described by P2 as follows:  You are aware of other people’s thoughts and feelings. You understand why they do things.  For more information, see the Social Intelligence card, or any other character strength card at https://camelotes.fcps.edu/node/1945.

Fit Club (Running Program)--Parent and Teacher Volunteers Needed. Fit Club at Camelot is a co-ed fitness program designed for 3rd - 6th graders. Specifically, it is a training program to get kids excited about physical activity by introducing them to basic running, jumping and throwing skills. Parent and teacher volunteers are needed to help lead and/or run the program. The program has run three times/week (2 AM days and 1 PM) but last year ran 1 AM and 1 PM date. The exact days the program runs will depend on the parent and teacher volunteer schedules. It usually starts in late February/early March and runs through early May. The Falls Church HS Jaguar 5K (what this group has trained for in the past) is scheduled for Saturday, April 27. Please contact Bonnie Gagermeier at bgagermeier@gmail.com if you can help support the program.  Registration information for students will come out later once volunteer availability has been determined.

Join us! We have several opportunities to volunteer and bring PTA programs to our community! Been thinking about volunteering but didn’t know how to help? We have a few open roles for programs. They include Bingo Night Coordinator for next year (would shadow this year’s event), School Supply Kit coordinator, and Store Coordinator. These aren’t large commitments and training would be provided, so please reach out and learn more about how you can lend a hand to help our community deliver these fun programs and events! Save the Date. Chuck E. Cheese restaurant night is February 21. Mark your calendars and join the community as we play games and have dinner at Chuck E. Cheese in Fairfax.
