Greetings -

I hope everyone is staying warm.

I want raise awareness about two time-sensitive community meetings that relate to Braddock District residential development projects.

Tonight (January 31st/7:30pm), Supervisor Cook is hosting a rescheduled community meeting for the "One University" Residential Project to discuss its potential traffic impact. (Please see the specific meeting details listed below)

Next Monday (February 4th/7:30pm), Supervisor Cook is hosting a community meeting to discuss the potential traffic impact from the Erickson Living senior residential proposal for the former Northern Virginia Training Center (NVTC) site on Braddock Road. (Please see the specific meeting details below)

The combination of these two projects could add more than 2,000 additional cars to Braddock Road and area traffic. If you are unable to attend either of the community meetings, please learn more about these projects from Supervisor Cook’s recent newsletters (and website), and then share your feedback with his office. Civic engagement is so important to preserving the quality of life we enjoy in Fairfax County.

Cheers,

Megan

“One University” Residential Development Project

“One University” Residential Development Project
Thursday at 7:30pm. Supervisor Cook is hosting an important community meeting regarding the potential traffic impact of the One University residential development project, near Braddock Road & Rt 123. This proposal could include 1000 housing units (plus comparable parking spaces).

One part of the proposal will offer 100 senior affordable housing units (for residents aged 62 and older), and a second part will offer 140 affordable multifamily units. The 3rd part of the proposal is a 5+ story structure with up to 362 units (designed specifically for 819 college students), and a structured garage for 800+ parking spaces. Thus, the proposal indicates 1,000+ more cars may be added to this dense residential area.
