Workout Wednesdays have begun!  Yesterday students and staff took a one-minute break each hour to exercise/get active. Many students shared that they felt more energized and alert after each session.

As a reminder, all students and staff are invited to wear appropriate workout or gym clothes; including sneakers/tennis shoes, to school each Wednesday in support of this new school-wide initiative.

Thanks to our amazing PE teachers, Mr. Brian Silva and Mr. Louis Nguyen, for making Workout Wednesdays happen at HWES!

p2

Hunters Woods has become a partner school with the Positivity Project (P2) for the 2018-2019 school year. We are so excited to join many other FCPS partner schools. The mission of The Positivity Project is to empower students to build strong relationships -- by understanding, appreciating, and living out the 24-character strengths in us all.  This past week the character strength we highlighted was Prudence. Teachers and teams highlight these themes through morning meetings, books, class discussions or other class activities.  Each week there is a different character strength highlighted, the P2 calendar will help you follow along with what our focus is each week.  There are character cards which may be helpful to you as a parent when talking with your students about the specific character strength.

Next week's character strength is: Other People Matter-Supporting Others When They Struggle

Stay tuned for more information about the Positivity Project! Students will be learning about 24 character strengths and discussing #OtherPeopleMatter.
