Science Olympiad

Science Olympiad participated in the Fairfax Invitational on Saturday Jan 12th.  The Fairfax Invitational is one of the largest Science Olympiad competitions with over 52 teams competing. As usual, our kids represented Robinson with poise, hard work, and outstanding teamwork. Robinson came in 8th overall with our highest individual team ranking 9th.  

Individual awards for given to the following teams and events:

Astronomy –  8th place Serena Utech and Mrinal Bhatnagar

Circuit Lab –  3rd place Owen Schwartz and Ryan Keller; 9th place Mackenzie Proper and Jason Kim

Disease Detectives – 9th place Josh Sawin and Robin Allen

Experimental Design – 10th place Andre Nguyen, Rea Yoza, and Owen Shwartz

Fermi Questions - 7th place Simon Luai and Ethan Fisk; 10th place Winston Ravicha and Logan Day

Fossils – 4th place Logan Day and Ella Giles

Mission Possible – 2nd place Owen Schwartz and Sophia Gospodinov

Thermodynamics – 8th place Mrinal Bhatnagar and Jeyi Lee

Write It Do It – 2nd place Oyu Enkhbold and Andrew Rosene

"It's Academic" Scholastic Quizbowl Team

Message from Sponsors:  Mr. Campana and Mr. Bird

This past weekend, Robinson’s “It’s Academic” Scholastic Quizbowl Team defeated 14 other schools in VHSL Scholastic Bowl competition to win the 2019 Occoquan Region Championship!  We will be going on to the Super-Regional Championship on Saturday, February 2nd to compete for a chance to go to the state championship in late February.

Congratulations to participating team members Megan Sullivan (team captain), Mason Cook, Joshua Link, Jimmy Orefice, Lily Brintzinghoffer, and Bridget Sheridan for their outstanding performance!

In addition, Mason and Megan were named Region All-Stars as the 4th & 5th overall individual scorers (respectively)!
