ATTENTION 5th and 6th GRADE parents!
I am so excited to be working with the Forestville 5th and 6th graders again to put on the musical, The Jungle Book Kids! I have been the music director for the last five years under the leadership of Haley Murphy. Ms. Murphy is moving on to other endeavors so I am stepping into the role of director this year! Ms. Murphy will still be advising me and I’m grateful for her assistance. Please read below for tryout information and important dates. - Kara Ludlow
DISNEY'S THE JUNGLE BOOK KIDS
Forestville 5th and 6th graders only
Mandatory Parent Meeting – Jan. 29th (9:30 am or 7:00 pm - Forestville cafeteria)
No child can audition if their parent has not attended one of the two meeting times above.
Auditions – Jan. 31st starting at 5:00 pm in the gym (end around 6:45 pm)
For auditions, each child will need to be prepared to sing a short song acapella. That is the only thing they need to prepare ahead of time. The audition will consist of three parts: acting, dancing & singing. The acting and dancing will be instructed at the audition so there is no preparation for that. For the singing, I would recommend a patriotic, holiday or Broadway song. Generally popular songs from the radio are hard to perform acapella and do not present the singer’s voice as well.
A cast list will be emailed out over the weekend of Feb. 2-3.
You will also receive a calendar with rehearsal dates but, in general, rehearsals will be 4 times a week in the morning from 7:45 am - 9:00 am. The exceptions to this will be the after school rehearsals the week leading up to the play as noted below.

Performances – May 3, 4, and 6
