Eagle of the Quarter

Mr Racek

Our first recipient of the new quarterly Eagle Award  is social studies department chairman and teacher Scott Racek. As a member of the teaching staff, Scott volunteers to lead committees, has coached soccer, golf and lacrosse, and manages student service hours to ensure our students have an enriching experience as they work towards their service learning cords.

Six years ago he started the Edison High School Hall of Fame. This event brings generations of Edison Eagles together to honor past and present contributors to athletics and activities at Edison.

At any time of the day or night, Scott can be seen connecting with our students, their families, other staff members and the community. His loyalty to Edison and its mission can best be summed up in his constant words: “What is best for Edison?”

Eagles of the Month - December

Loughner

Anne Loughner is one of two Eagles of the Month for December. Ms. Loughner, a special education teacher, has become a leader in the department despite her only having been here a few years. There are many procedures as well as a great deal of paperwork required in this department, and she is tireless in making sure it's done correctly and in a timely fashion. Ms. Loughner is also mentoring a first year teacher, in addition to the teaching responsibilities required of all of us. Congratulations, Ms. Loughner!

Miller

Dale Miller is not only an English department member but also the staff member who manages the morning announcements and sponsors the school newspaper.  His colleagues said that he is incredibly insightful about all things school related and happy to share his thoughts about best practices, student engagement, etc. He can often be found after school and on weekends to ensure students have time to produce the newspaper and announcements in a timely and professional manner. Congratulations, Mr. Miller!
