Dear Centreville High School Community,

I am truly honored to have been selected as the new principal of Centreville High School.  I am looking forward to working with our dedicated staff, parents, and all stakeholders to provide the highest quality educational program and school experience for our students.  I am fortunate to have this opportunity to serve as a leader in such a wonderful school community driven by the school’s mission to educate, encourage, and empower all students to achieve at a high level.  I am excited to make a positive difference in the lives of our Centreville High School students.

Most recently, I was in my fifth year as principal at Luther Jackson Middle School.  I also served for five years as an assistant principal at South Lakes High School and had an opportunity to work in the FCPS Instructional Services Department as an instructional specialist prior to that.  I began my career in education as a teacher, coach, and assistant director of student activities at Chantilly High School and Harrisonburg High School.  I completed my undergraduate studies at Penn State University, Master of Science studies at James Madison University, and Master of Education studies at George Mason University.

While there are many aspects of school that require our attention, I remain committed to three essential areas of focus to help guide my work: a positive and caring school culture, high quality classroom instruction every day, and staff working in collaborative teams to both strengthen instruction and best support the needs of our students.  With a focus on high expectations in these areas, we can help ensure that students remain at the center of our work.  Over the coming months, I will get to know the students, staff, and community and learn about the culture of the school.  I will also visit classrooms and teacher teams to learn about the instruction and various programs in the school.  I will listen and learn about what is working well and what might need to be improved.

A strong connection between the school and the community is essential to student success and having a great school.  As a parent of two boys myself, I know how much trust you place in our hands.  It is with humility that I join this school community and commit to work together to achieve greatness for our students.  I look forward to meeting many of you at upcoming school events, so please be sure to say hello!  Go Wildcats!
