FCPS will Honor Exemplary Employees on June 12

The Foundation for FCPS is proud to support Employee Recognition programs for the 27,500 employees at FCPS. Through monthly celebrations in each region, #FCPSCares recognizes employees at every level, culminating in the star-studded FCPS Honors event, to be held this year on Wednesday, June 12 at 6:00 pm at Mason's Center for the Arts.

Sponsorships are now available. Your $5,000 contribution allows a top-level executive in your company to present an award to one of our deserving winners! Or you can choose to make a contribution toward this effort in honor of a deserving teacher or employee. More information can be found on the Foundation's Events Page.

W springfield students at the GSA

Students from West Springfield High visited the General Services Administration’s information technology office in Washington, D.C., for a business tour and job shadowing experience. After touring the recently-renovated building, students heard from GSA volunteers, who offered their time to mentor students and talk about their careers.  This work-based, learning field trip reinforced what students are learning in their information technology and computer science classes. Read the full story here

A grant from the Foundation to Herndon Middle School is bringing adult mentors to work with the students on service learning projects in their community. Students worked with mentors to decorate pumpkins that were then donated to an elementary school as a way to show their caring and compassion for the community. #SOARFCPS
