THANK YOU to all of the students of Woodley Hills ES, and their families that attended Family Math & STEAM Night on Friday, December 7th.
We had a wonderful turnout of 300+ people in attendance! We hope you enjoyed playing math games (addition & subtraction problem solving and computation tasks), experimenting with hands-on science tasks, playing Challenge 24 (mental math game), solving hands-on equations, learning about coding & computer science (Technology), making math monsters (Art), playing vertical leap subtraction (PE), completing the engineering design challenge by building a house from the Three Little Pigs (Library), solving calculator tasks and playing grade level games in the Gym with your child/children. Please continue to practice math & science at home with the take-home games, tasks and activities!
We would like to thank our PTA, students, WHES families, teachers, specialists, instructional assistants, office staff, custodians and administration for supporting our annual family event – we couldn’t do it without you!
The winners of the Estimation Station were: Elijah Crockett (Dunbar: FECEP/Kindergarten), Carson Kester (DiMasi: 1st/2nd grade), Delia Maxwell and Keyla Pineda (Bartlebaugh/Thompson: 3rd/4th grade) and Braeden Olmstead (Miller: 5th/6th grade.)
Attention parents of students in 2nd through 6th grade – if you are planning to refer your child for AAP Level 4 (full-time) consideration, the deadline to turn in a referral is Thursday, January 10, 2019 by dismissal time.
