Positivity Project :

This week we are focusing on self control. If you have self control you have the ability to control your emotions and behaviors. You think before you act.

“Self control is a key factor in achieving success. We can’t control everything in life, but we can definitely control ourselves.”

– Jan Mckingly Hilado

Kiss & Ride-Drop Off and Pick Up

This is a busy and stressful time of year.  It is important to exercise patience and awareness when traveling through our Kiss & Ride.  We are each responsible for our actions and responses during this time of day.

Please remember that the safety of our students is of the utmost importance. We know that there are many places people need to be in the morning and the afternoon.  We serve over 200 cars in the morning and the afternoon in our Kiss& Ride.  Our staff moves cars through safely and efficiently.  It is imperative that everyone follows the procedures for Kiss & Ride in order to keep our students safe. Walkers and staff should remember to cross at the crosswalks, so cars can safely see you.

  • Be aware of cars and pedestrians.
  • Pull your car forward as far as possible in the line.
  • Make sure that your child exits your car on the building side only.
  • Drivers are to remain in the drivers seat.
  • Do not pass other cars in line.
  • No cell phones should be in use in the Kiss & Ride Lane.

Things to Consider Before Making a Technology Purchase for Your Child

The holiday season is upon us, and many look forward to this time of the year --- visits with family and friends, a festive atmosphere around town, and gift-giving to celebrate the season. Often, parents see this as a great time to buy their child a new phone, computer or gaming device as a gift. A little planning ahead of time can go a long way toward ensuring that new device provides enjoyment for your child and minimal stress for parents and caregivers.

Please check out this Healthy Minds post for information on preparing to set expectations if you are considering any new technology gifts for your children this holiday season.
